Policy

Donation & refund policy

Effective October 27, 2026

This policy applies to donations made to Secure Paws Foundation Inc., a Wyoming public benefit nonprofit corporation ("Secure Paws Foundation", "we", "us").

Donations

A donation is a voluntary gift that supports our charitable work. You receive no goods, services or benefits in return. We accept donations from donors in any country. All donations are processed in US dollars, and your bank may apply currency conversion fees.

How we use donations

Donations fund rescue and rehoming, veterinary care, shelter support, education, and the reasonable operating costs of running these programs, including payment processing fees. If you ask us to use your gift for a specific program, we will. If that program is fully funded or ends, we'll use the gift for the closest similar purpose.

Payment security

Online donations are completed on our payment provider's secure checkout page. We do not collect, see or store full card numbers.

Receipts and tax status

Every online donor receives an email receipt with the amount, date and our EIN (98-1983687). Our application for IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status is pending. Until it is approved, we cannot confirm that donations are tax-deductible. Donors outside the US should check their own country's tax rules. We don't give tax advice.

Refunds

If you donated by mistake, for example the wrong amount, a duplicate payment, or a charge you didn't authorize, contact us within 30 days and we'll refund it in full.

Requests made after 30 days are reviewed case by case, because the funds may already have been spent on animal care. If you believe a charge is unauthorized, please contact us before disputing it with your bank so we can resolve it quickly.

Monthly donations

You can cancel a monthly donation at any time by emailing or calling us, or through the link in your receipt where available. Cancelling stops all future charges.

Gifts we may decline

We may decline or return a donation that conflicts with our mission, carries conditions we can't meet, or appears to come from unlawful activity.
